Evan Woods has spent more than 10 years in hands-on landscaping in Waterloo Region, most of it on lawns: tearing out failed turf, preparing and grading the soil, and laying sod for homes and commercial properties. He started Sod Installers because people who want sod laid kept calling landscapers who do not offer it. Every business listed here says, in its own words, that it installs sod. Evan reads the listings, takes corrections and removal requests, and checks every claim by hand before a page changes.
Why this directory exists
I started Sod Installers because of a simple problem. Someone who wants new sod searches for it, gets a list of landscapers, and then spends an afternoon calling companies that build patios, cut grass or sell sod by the pallet but do not lay it.
So this directory does the sorting first. Every business here has said, in its own words, that it installs sod: on its website, in the services it lists on Google, or in a finished project. When the evidence is unclear, the business is not listed until it confirms.
I have worked on lawns in Waterloo Region for more than 10 years, so the directory starts close to home, in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph, and covers the rest of Ontario from there. Other provinces will follow where there are enough installers to make a city page worth reading.
If you run a business that lays sod and you are not listed, or something on your page is wrong, use the claim form. I check every claim and correction myself before anything changes.
How listings are vetted
Every business on Sod Installers started as a landscaper on Google Maps in Ontario. That is where the list begins, not where it ends. A landscaping category says nothing about whether a company lays sod, so each business was checked against its own words: its website, and the services it lists on its own Google profile.
A business is listed only when it says it installs sod: a sod installation service, sodding, laying new sod or a finished sod project. Selling or delivering sod is not enough, and neither is artificial turf or seeding on its own. Nearly 2,000 Ontario landscapers did not show that, and they stay off this directory until they confirm it.
Right now that is 1,630 sod installers in 137 Ontario cities, last refreshed 2026-10-24.
Owners can claim their listing for free. Every claim is checked by a person: a real local business, a matching email domain or a call to the number on the Google listing. Paid placements are marked as featured, premium or best-of wherever they appear.
